Cloud UC and VoIP provider Alteva, a subsidiary of Warwick Valley Telephone as of a year ago, is bolstering its offering with the addition of Mozy-powered cloud storage and disaster recovery to its portfolio under a traditional reseller agreement.
“While traditional backup solutions can be expensive and take weeks to set up, a reliable online backup solution like MozyPro can be set up by Alteva in a fraction of the time, with no setup fees, or hardware purchases. Additionally, having one provider that offers a complete suite of cloud services eliminates the need to manage multiple vendors,” said Alteva Product Manager Elizabeth Backus in a prepared statement.
Alteva already offers hosted Microsoft Communications Services (including SharePoint, Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft OCS with voice), voice over IP, and a host of other cloud services. Cloud storage is a bold new frontier for Alteva, but it’s one that’s on the rise, and honestly I’m astonished it’s taken the company this long to get into the market. Regardless, Alteva and its partners can now take advantage of MozyPro.
On the Mozy side of things, the cloud storage provider seems to be cozying up to the service provider channel, with Intermedia similarly offering cloud storage built on the platform. We’ll be watching closely for updates, so don’t touch that dial.
