Cloud computing and virtualization company EMC (NYSE: EMC) launched its VSPEX Proven Infrastructure, a cloud reference architecture using industry standard technology, designed to enable partners to implement cloud environments easily and quickly.

VSPEX consists of EMC storage systems and backup applications, as well as virtualization, server and network technology from EMC partners including Brocade, Cisco Systems, Citrix, Intel, Microsoft, and VMware.

En Pointe Technologies announced it has reached the Cisco Cloud Provider Certification in its efforts to service the ever-growing cloud network market. The Cisco certification carries a Powered Cloud Hosted Collaboration System (HCS) Service designation and with that, the company is now offering its En Pointe Collaboration Solution (ECS)-validated Cisco infrastructure and HCS applications.

California-based Adaptive Planning, which offers cloud-based corporate performance management (CPM) services, has raised $22 million in new venture capital. Norwest Venture Partners (NVP) of Palo Alto headed this fifth round (Series E) of financing for Adaptive Planning. Existing investors Cardinal Venture Capital, Clairmont Capital, Monitor Ventures, and ONSET Ventures also took part in the round.
