"Cloud Channel Partner Programs" Posts

Cloud Channel Partner Programs offer recurring revenues and service level agreements (SLAs) to cloud brokers, cloud resellers, VARs and MSPs.

Rackspace (NYSE: RAX), the cloud services provider, now has 7,000 channel partners. But Rackspace isn’t resting on its cloud partner program laurels. The company is taking steps to deliver programmatic, vertical market and transformational enhancements to partners, according to Channel Chief Christopher Rajiah.

“Partner contributions to new business at Rackspace have continued to grow every month,” Rajiah told Talkin’ Cloud yesterday. “And we’re continually taking steps to make sure we’re in shape to support that growth.”

Indeed, Rackspace seems to …

San Francisco-based MuleSoft launched the Mule iON SaaS Edition, which includes a set of new tools and services for Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) integration in the cloud. The Mule iON SaaS Edition allows SaaS vendors and systems integrators (SI’s) to build new packages of cloud integration apps that automate enterprise processes across applications, thus enabling them, according to MuleSoft, to “focus on scaling their core business instead of spending time and money on custom integration.” MuleSoft also announced a QuickStart Plan

The NetSuite (NYSE: N) cloud-based ERP platform seems to be attracting the next-generation IT channel — whether you call them cloud VARs, cloud integrators or cloud consultants. Skeptical? Check out this week’s NetSuite SuiteWorld 2012 conference (May 14-17, San Francisco).

A SuiteWorld partner-only session on May 14 is expected to attract scores of NetSuite cloud integrators — many of whom are shifting customers from on-premises Microsoft Dynamics ERP to NetSuite’s cloud. That’s a recurring theme each year at SuiteWorld, where …

Google has announced a flexible billing offer for Google Apps Authorized Resellers, and Google Drive also is available now via Google’s partner program. Those channel-centric moves should further silence critics who recently suggested that Google might deemphasize Google Apps in the future.

Ravi Byakod, technical lead, Google Apps, mentioned in Google+ post:

“Monthly post-pay billing is now available to resellers in the Google Apps Reseller program, providing flexibility in payment and cash flow to both resellers and their Google Apps

BetterCloud, a Google Apps Marketplace partner, has raised $2.2 million to focus on cloud security and management tools for Google Apps. The seed funding came from angel investors and CEO David Politis — blending good-old bootstrapping with external dollars to drive growth.

BetterCloud has also launched a beta of FlashPanel, a Google Apps management tool. The company expects the management tool to be generally available in the Google Apps Marketplace by mid-2012. I don’t believe pricing has been …

When it comes to profiting from Microsoft Office 365, Terry Hedden has a slightly different view of the world. As CEO of Infinity Technology Solutions, an MSP in Tampa, Fla., Hedden sees at least five ways VARs and MSPs can profit from cloud computing — outside of the recurring revenues that Microsoft offers to partners.

During the Kaseya Connect 2012 user conference last week in Las Vegas, Hedden said his company charges cloud customers for the following five services:…

A whopping 85 percent of Citrix Systems VARs see an opportunity to build private clouds using CloudStack, the open source cloud computing platform from Citrix (NASDAQ: CTXS). That big statistic emerged at Citrix Partner Summit 2012, which attracted roughly 2,000 channel partners, according to Citrix Channel Chief Tom Flink.

In many circles, CloudStack is considered an alternative to OpenStack, the open source cloud platform first promoted by Rackspace and NASA. While Rackspace has a lot of cloud mind …

Renee Bergeron, VP of managed services and cloud services at Ingram Micro, is describing how resellers, VARs and MSPs will become cloud service brokers. A key stat: Top VARs and MSPs now have more than 1,000 user seats in the cloud, according to an Ingram Micro Cloud survey. At least 20 percent of the cloud services market will go through brokers, Bergeron said, quoting Gartner. The details are emerging now at Ingram Micro VTN conference in Colorado Springs, Colorado. …

CA Technologies (NASDAQ: CA) announced that its channel partners with CA Automation Suite for Clouds proficiency now also meet the criteria for the Cloud Management Competency Validation criteria for the Cloud Builder designation under Cisco Systems‘ (NASDAQ: CSCO) Cloud Partner program.

The Cisco program validates Cloud Builder competencies in infrastructure, cloud management and professional services, enabling partners to design and implement private and public clouds built on Cisco technology, according to the company.

The ongoing battle between Microsoft Office 365 and Google Apps has taken another interesting turn: Following a two-year legal battle involving the two cloud heavyweights, the U.S. Department of the Interior has awarded a seven-year, $35 million contract to Google (NASDAQ: GOOG) partner Onix Networking to provide Gmail and Google collaboration tools for the agency. The contract calls for Onix to move the department’s 90,000 e-mail users from a siloed combination of Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) Exchange and IBM (NYSE: IBM) …
