Utility metered cloud company 6fusion announced at the Citrix Synergy conference it has expanded its multi-hypervisor federated cloud to include the Citrix (NASDAQ: CTXS) and Open Source Xen platforms, adding to its existing support for VMware.

Dell Services (NASDAQ: DELL) announced the first two offers in its newly launched Dell Cloud suite for SAP Solutions. Dell is targeting customers looking to move their SAP infrastructure by offering a set of SAP-certified cloud services in secure hybrid, public or private clouds. According to the Dell release, the SAP Solutions suite provides “the agility to easily integrate legacy applications and enables customers to expand beyond physical resources for ‘just in time’ resource allocation and incremental on-demand capacity.”…

A whopping 85 percent of Citrix Systems VARs see an opportunity to build private clouds using CloudStack, the open source cloud computing platform from Citrix (NASDAQ: CTXS). MeriTalk Cloud Computing Exchange (CCX), a consortium of U.S. government IT leaders and personnel, released a report titled “Cloudy with a Chance of Savings,” which claims federal agencies are saving $5.5 billion in IT costs with current cloud computing efforts, and could save as much as $12 billion annually.
