Hundreds of vendors are trying to cash in on cloud computing. But only one company owns the Cloud.com domain. And Chief Marketing Officer Peder Ulander wants to ensure customers and partners understand Cloud.com’s business strategy.

YouTube Preview ImageIn a TalkinCloud FastChat video (left), Ulander describes how Cloud.com customers already leverage hybrid cloud solutions. Ulander also describes how open source will unlock new cloud opportunities for customers. And he touches on Cloud.com’s strategic relationships with RightScale and Openstack.

AMong Cloud.com’s latest win: KT, Korea’s largest telephone service provider, will use Cloud.com’s CloudStack public and private cloud platform to power their KT ucloud IaaS offering, currently in beta. The really interesting wrinkle:, KT and Cloud.com claim customers will pay up to 60% less for KT ucloud than they would for Amazon Web Services. Much of the savings will involve reduced electricity needs; the KT data centers — which will include Nexenta, Intel, and Citrix solutions — will draw up to 60 percent less power compared to alternatives.

Apparently, this isn’t KT’s first collaboration with Cloud.com. Indeed, CloudStack powers the company’s internal private cloud, which employees use for everything from documents to television.

For Cloud.com’s part, this is actually the third public IaaS cloud project the company has announced in 2011. And the international clouds outnumber the domestic 2-to-1. Just more evidence that cloud markets everywhere are on the rise.
