Cloud identity and access management provider Symplified is extending business operations to critical U.S., European and Asian Pacific markets with the opening of branch offices in Dallas, Los Angeles in New York, new distribution agreements in Japan, Singapore, the Netherlands, the Philippines and America, and a new director of sales for the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.
As per the official press release, Symplified’s new distributor agreements:
- J’s Communication in Japan
- Sandz in Singapore
- Xynapse in the Philippines
- IP4Sure in the Netherlands
- Arrow Enterprise Computing Solutions in the United States — especially interesting as Arrow has been building buzz around its cloud offerings.
Meanwhile, industry veteran Steve Pope will be taking over as VP of Sales for the EMEA region, responsible for both Symplified’s internal sales teams and the company’s U.K.-based channel partners. Previously, Pope had held similar positions with companies including Oracle acquisition AmberPoint and Software AG.
Symplified CEO Eric Olden gives some bigger-picture perspective in a prepared statement:
“The cloud is the future of IT and Symplified is removing the fear that organizations have with the lack of centralized identity and access controls built into software as a service applications. In the U.S., businesses have been converting IT infrastructure and applications to the cloud at an accelerated rate this year. We are now seeing a huge uptick in demand in international markets as well. By expanding into the UK, signing distribution partnerships in Asia Pacific, and growing our presence in key regional US markets, Symplified is extending its leadership position on a global scale.”
This announcement hits two of the major trends TalkinCloud has been tracking for the last several months: Cloud security is a major roadblock to cloud adoption, especially when it comes to mobility, and providers such as Symplified are working hard to help service providers fill the gap; and 2011 is the year American cloud service providers have started expanding their businesses outside our borders, especially in the Asia Pacific market.
Stay tuned to TalkinCloud as we continue to track Symplified, international cloud expansion and cloud security issues.
