NaviSite, the managed cloud services provider that made waves when it was acquired by Time Warner back in February, has expanded into the United Kingdom with a new node – the provider’s first foothold into Europe. The company is aiming to extend the NaviSite Managed Cloud Services (MCP) infrastructure-as-a-service and cloud application offerings to U.K.-based organizations with local regulations and high network performance requirements.
Of course, as an extension of the NaviSite MCP offering, the official press release highlights the benefits of its managed NaviCloud IaaS platform as a whole: Cisco Systems, VMware and IBM technology, SSAE 16 certification, consumption-based billing, built-in disaster recovery and a three-nines availability SLA, just for starters.
Here’s what Philip Cheek, NaviSite’s new European Managing Director, had to say about the launch:
“We are now well-positioned to meet the growing demand for enterprise-class managed cloud services in the UK and Europe, and are thrilled that we can offer our award-winning Managed Cloud Services to enterprises that require a local European cloud presence.”
This new Woking, U.K.-based node gives NaviSite its third data center in its overall cloud network, joining San Jose, Calif., and Andover, Mass. TalkinCloud has a hunch that this is only the first wave of a series of international expansions for NaviSite, so keep watching for more details.
