Network security and compliance specialist StillSecure has unveiled the StillSecure Cloud Security Services Platform, which the company is billing as “the industry’s first comprehensive suite of managed security services for both public and private cloud environments.” Basically, by supporting any of a number of cloud infrastructures, StillSecure can use virtual environments as a deployment method and deliver a full range of security solutions.

To hear StillSecure tell it, public and private clouds still have a number of security gaps. The Cloud Security Services Platform aims to address that with a lineup of services including “firewall, IDS/IPS, VPN, file integrity monitoring, vulnerability scanning, log management, and more,” according to the press release. It works with Xen, VMware, Hyper-V and KVM environments, and StillSecure is hyping it as a way to reduce hardware costs and shorten provisioning time.

Here’s what StillSecure Chief Architect David Greenstein had to say on the platform’s launch in a prepared statement:

“The business benefits of deploying critical applications in the cloud environment are well-documented, as are the inherent security risks. StillSecure’s Cloud Security Services Platform unlocks the benefits of the cloud for service providers and enterprises. Now enterprises, data centers and service providers can rely on the same level of security they have grown accustomed to in the physical world while realizing the power and flexibility of the cloud.”

Cloud security is a hot-button issue in the IT world, with vendors tripping over themselves to provide secure and trusted solutions – and partners racing to add them to their portfolio. So it’s no wonder that StillSecure’s cloud service provider partners have a similar tool to add to their offering.
