Blytheco, a well-established services provider, has been offering Sage and nothing but Sage CRM solutions for just about 30 years. But times change. As of Feb. 1, 2012, Blytheco has ended its relationship with Sage in favor of a partnership with competitor SugarCRM. (Update: Blytheco has reached out to confirm that it’s still reselling Sage solutions, dependent on customer need – this is just the first time the provider has offered a non-Sage CRM solution in 32 years.)
With SugarCRM, Blytheco can help its customers boost sales, raise efficiency and help these customers retain customers of their own — at least, according to the press release. SugarCRM is open source-based. Blytheco will be offering on-premises and public cloud deployments.
According to Blytheco, it’s especially jazzed over SugarCRM’s strong value proposition for the SMB market — though it has application for the large enterprise and across every market vertical. The service provider laid out a laundry list of reasons to embrace SugarCRM in a company blog entry. But key amongst those reasons, according to Blytheco, are SugarCRM’s social and mobile capabilities, which is something TalkinCloud’s heard a lot lately in the CRM sphere.
Meanwhile, Sage has been working to strengthen its cloud strategy worldwide, including moves in Europe and elsewhere. The company faces fierce competition from cloud and on-premises business software companies. But Sage managed to grow revenues 4 percent during its fiscal year ended Sept. 2011, and underlying earnings per share rose 16 percent.
